Being a writer has never been something I thought of or thought I would become at all. However, a life yielded to God has a way of taking you places beyond your wildest dreams and imaginations.
I mention in my book 'The Narrow Path' , that life began four years ago for me. Have you ever felt like you landed on earth and never really checked in mentally or spiritually?
Yeah, that was me. I couldn't begin to tell you what was in my mind or how I even thought of things as a kid, teen, and older teen until I became 18. However, around May 2020, was when Muli Jr was born. That period is when my life took a 180 turn and I had an awakening.
Life without awareness of self and the eternal world within is to be a dead man walking.
You may be asking where do I get the term eternity within? Well, from one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible which is in Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMPC):
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds (a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy), yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end."
When I read that scripture for the first time, something in me changed and a burning desire for understanding what it meant was acquired. Regardless of what you believe in or not, a divine sense of purpose is what we as humans need in order to feel as if we are living. True satisfaction cannot come from anywhere else other than you following your divine destiny purpose. However, the Creator who made all of us, is the only one who can truly reveal to you what that is.
In fact, it can be hidden from God's servants as well because of how much he loves us.
I'm always inspired by the story of King David. During the time of him growing up, there came a prophet Samuel who was known as a seer. What that means is he could see things from a divine perspective that ordinary men could not see. Now God wanted to choose the next King of Israel and Judah, after the current King Saul, chose to disobey God's commands, so he sent Samuel to the household of Jesse (King David's father) as God had chosen for himself a king among Jesse's sons. David had 7 brothers. When Samuel came he saw the first born son and because of his appearance and stature Samuel thought that was who God had chosen to be King. Although, God said: (1 Samuel 16:7):
"He does not see as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart."
Now Samuel went through 7 of David's brothers and knew that God had not chosen any of them to be king. However, he asked Jesse, "Are all your sons here?" Jesse said "There is yet the youngest; he is tending the sheep." Now Samuel sent for David and Samuel heard God saying: "Arise, anoint him; this is he."
That story is found in 1 Samuel 16.
Moral of the story is that God can hide your purpose from everyone. Even from those whose purpose is to hear from Him directly concerning His heart can fail to identify your unique purpose because it is only God who can reveal it to you.
As for me, I believe 2020 God showed me a glimpse of what my purpose was one lonely night in an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I write about the vision in my book 'The Narrow Path'. Although, like King David, even though he was anointed by God, he didn't actually become king over Israel until he was around 37; Samuel anointed him when he was about 13-15 years old!
Why I love David's story so much is because I see myself in it a lot. I had a mentor, who was like Samuel, he sees things that ordinary men cannot see. He said to me when I was 13 that I would begin walking in what God wants me to walk in when I am around 17,18,or 19, and I will write a book when I am young.
Now at the time of hearing that I wondered why not now? I had looked up to my mentor so much because he was insanely confident about who he was, he was a very interesting, and gifted man and at the time he was 22! I wanted to be like him the moment I had my first conversation with him. Although, life went on and I forgot about what he said until May 2020, when my awakening happened.
Now here we are, I am writing my first of many blog posts which would never have been possible if it wasn't for the venturing deeper into the realities mentioned in Ecclesiastes 3:11.
In conclusion, we are in a day and age where so many things in the world are going extremely wrong: suicidal rates are through the roof, destructive addictions, rape, murders, just to mention a few. All immoral things are at their highest!
You have to actually take time and think how did we get here as a society?
Well, society consists of individuals and it is individuals that make up a society. So, if we are to look at society we need to look at the individuals in the society.
What influences their thoughts to make decisions, actions, and lifestyle choices?
Lack of awareness of self and purpose will cause so many destructive things to take place and the solution is for us as humans to come to this realization and be willing enough to bring positive change into our lives that can now branch out to the rest of society.
However, before I could look at other individuals, I had to take a long look at myself and journey The Narrow Path: Mastering the Art of Awareness and Unlocking the Eternal Treasures Within.
